Trail Shuttles and Slackpacking Rates
(Please be aware that for all
shuttles made after September 1st, 2005, we are now forced to charge
an hourly rate of $35 per hour instead of our normal rate of $25 per
hour (round trip for the driver). This is because of the high
cost of gasoline! We are very sorry for the inconvenience.)
For hostel and motel guests at either the Stratton Motel or the
Maine Roadhouse, there is no charge for shuttles to the Appalachian
Trail road crossings for Rangeley (Maine Hwy 4 - also known as Route
4) or for Stratton (Maine Hwy 27 - also know as Route 27 or Route 16
on some maps).
For other shuttles, the charge is $35 per hour for the driver to
make a round trip. These charges are the same regardless of
whether there is one hiker in the vehicle or there are 4 hikers in
the vehicle.
Below are some of the most common shuttles that we do. If
you have any questions or want to make a reservation, please call us
at either the Stratton Motel (207-246-4171) or the Maine Roadhouse
(207-246-2060).
